SEER*Stat Basic Training covers case listing, frequency, and rate sessions. Joinpoint regression software and an introduction to Delay-Adjustment is also included. This course also includes a basic overview of age-adjustment and some key analytic fields.
Course Objectives
Introduce basic statistical topics in the analysis of cancer registry data and how data can be analyzed using these techniques within the SEER*Stat software.
Requirements
General familiarity with the analysis of registry data. Each participant must bring a laptop with a Windows operating system or a Windows emulator. If an emulator is used, then the participant should test compatibility with SEER*Stat prior to the conference.

Geocoding and updates to the NAACCR Geocoder
Fee includes all course materials and breakfast.
The Geocoding Operations course is a practical course designed to help registries improve their geocoding operations. This course will provide an overview of how geocoding works, outline pre- and post-geocoding processes, and detail recent changes with the NAACCR Geocoding. Special attention will be made to issues with geocoding quality and new features of the NAACCR Geocoder: MicroMatch Status, Penalty Score, Minimum Match Score, Exhaustive Search Function, and Interactive Geocoding Interface. Participants may upload registry data to the NAACCR geocoder prior to the course or use a non-confidential data set.

- Instruct registries about sources and potential solutions to geocoding errors.
- Provide registries with tools to improve their geocoding.
- Instruct registries on how to use the new NAACCR Geocoding features

Match*Pro Training: Navigating the New Linkage Software
Fee includes all course materials and afternoon beverage break.
This course will provide instruction on the use of Match*Pro, a new linkage software developed by IMS, Inc. Attendees will learn about basic linkage concepts, receive instruction on Match*Pro software functionality, and have the opportunity to perform test linkages and explore the system capabilities.
This course is highly recommended for participants in the Virtual Pooled Registry (VPR). Match*Pro will be the software used for these linkages.
Course Objectives
- Ensure shared understanding of basic linkage concepts
- Provide instructional overview of Match*Pro functionality
- Give attendees hands-on experience working with test data
- Increase knowledge of and familiarity with Match*Pro
Requirements
Attendees should bring a laptop with Match*Pro loaded in advance. Familiarity with linkage software and linkage processes is beneficial, but not required.
Content
A background on linkage concepts followed by description of Match*Pro system functionality, including blocking parameters, matching criteria, filtering results, match review process, report capabilities, creating output files, etc.
